Where else can you choose a better place to see swimwear and summer fashion? The answer is at the Gold Coast Fashion Week.

Music, poetry and entertainment will resonate as Rathdowney Town celebrates its centenary on 4 April.

Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show: Last year’s event saw more than 390 boats on the water and hundreds of marine products on display in four large pavilions along the waterfront. 20-23 May.

The Australian International Seniors Golf Championship will be held at the Royal Pines Resort from 2-8 May.

June/July 2009

The Wintersun Festival will have over 1,500 pre-1974 classic and custom cars on display, as well as live bands playing those golden oldies songs. Coolangatta/Tweed Heads, 4-14 June.

Greek Festival: Enjoy the hospitality of the local Greek Community as they celebrate their culture with food, wine and dance.

January 2010

Join in the excitement of the Magic Millions Carnival, with numerous events, including the sale of the best of Australia’s yearlings before they go on to become the newest
stars in racing. 1-17 January, Race Day on 9 January.

Australian Tennis Seniors Championships: Gold Coast plays host to this competition which is open to tennis players who are 35 years or above. Gold Coast Seniors Tennis Club, 9-22 January.

February/March 2010

Golf: The Ladies Masters will have some of the most outstanding young female golf stars participating. Will Katherine Hull retain her title? Royal Pines Resort. 18-21 February.

The largest of its kind, the Australian Surf Life Saving Championship attracts over 7,000 competitors contesting more than 295 events. 16-21 March, Kurrawa.

Gold Coast Bridge Congress: This annual 5 session (2 qualifying, 3 final) pairs followed by 3 days of teams culminating in a final will see some of the world’s best bridge players participating in this challenging game.

August/September 2009

Broadbeach Blends of Jazz Festival:
A three day free community festival featuring live jazz music on outdoor stages and venues throughout Broadbeach precinct.

The annual Gold Coast Show has something for the whole family to enjoy: a dog show, a circus, horse events, sideshows and rides, visual arts, entertainment and woodchopping championships. End August.

Tastes of Gold Coast: Indulge yourself in gourmet food, delicacies and great wine. This 2 week annual festival has events and activities to cater for those who enjoy good food and wine.

Swell Sculpture Festival: An annual outdoor sculpture festival in September attracting about 200,000 visitors each year. Take a walk along the coastal walkway and admire the visual splendour created by different artists. Currumbin Beach.

October/November 2010

The Paradise Regatta: Rowing crews from around Australia and New Zealand will arrive in Surfers Paradise for an exciting programme of races.

SuperGP: Taking place each year on a street circuit at Surfers Paradise, this high-octane event encompasses the best in Champ Car and V8 racing, a variety of motor events plus a jam-packed programme off-track.

The World Masters Golf Championship attracts over 1000 golfers from around Australia and abroad to compete and play on some of the premier resort courses by day and party by night.

Pan Pacific Master Games will be held from 6-14 November.
